Berlin, 20th November 2018: More security with hybrid solutions - the Berlin e*Message Wireless Information Services Deutschland GmbH knows how to do it. For warnings and alerts, as well as for reliable control in the electricity distribution network. These experiences will be very sought-after at the PMRExpo (27th to 29th November) in Cologne. Over 4,300 decision-makers and experts from more than 50 countries will be meeting at the 18th edition of the trade fair. The Berlin mobile network operator e*Message will be presenting its extensive solution and services portfolio at stand E 09 in hall 10.2.
The PMRExpo has become established as Europe’s leading trade fair for professional mobile radio and control centres. “Hybrid structures will be one of the central issues this year,” says Dr Dietmar Gollnick, CEO of e*Message. “This includes NP2M (Narrowband Point-to-Multipoint), the narrowband standard supported by ETSI and the European regulator at CEPT 2013.” Broadband requires narrowband, in order to guarantee that communication channels are more secure. Gollnick will be speaking about the special experiences of a specialised mobile network operator in a lecture on the second day of the trade fair (2pm).
e*Message’s new hybrid service “2wayS” premiered at the trade fair last year. It merges GPRS and POCSAG in one machine. The solution extends the already highly available communication pathway by employing a public mobile network as a second redundant communication channel. This ensures even higher availability and even better accessibility. Transmitted messages will reach their recipients in all events - the probability of failure is a hundred times less likely than would be the case if only one channel were used. In addition to the two communication networks for better availability, the system also provides a feedback channel for optional active responses on the part of recipients. e*Message will be presenting the first real experiences at the PMRExpo this year.
Reliable security is also important in other areas. The radio control solution e*Nergy provides the efficient and tamper-proof remote control of decentralised energy consumption and generation applications to ensure power grid stability. The electric pager solution, which is based on e*Nergy, has been utilised throughout the Berlin power grid for four years now. The development of the system to the hybrid DX electric pager will be shown at the PMRExpo. The electric pager was extended by a CLS interface to connect it to the smart metering system. As a result, two independent communication channels are available to control it. The DX electric pager with its hybrid conception not only provides big players in the energy sector with efficient options, but also enables smaller energy distribution network operators to plan the next steps of the energy transition in an affordable and reliable way using e*Nergy.
e*Message’s solutions contribute to guaranteeing a reliable communication security infrastructure. e*Message maintains Europe’s largest security radio network: independent and satellite-based with around 800 transmitting stations throughout Germany. It allows alerts and warnings to reach all recipients simultaneously - regardless of whether the group comprises 10 or 10 million people. Alert and warning services can be installed and utilised to provide reliable warnings and information throughout Germany: e*BOS provides an optimum radio service which guarantees that fire services and non-police emergency units are alerted immediately and simultaneously. e*Warn has become an established preventive information and warning solution.
The e*Cityruf alert solution is utilised by emergency services of all kinds. e*Cityruf provides reliable communication wherever strict reaction times must be observed or where there is a risk of disruption with consequential damage - in the city, in the country, in buildings, cellars and underground car parks. Rescue and winter maintenance services rely on e*Cityruf, as do logistics companies for the management of their premises and vehicle fleets.
The e*Message Wireless Information Services GmbH (e*Message Europe) operates Europe’s largest security radio network. As one of four mobile network operators on the German market, e*Message maintains a satellite-based radio network with around 800 transmitting stations throughout Germany which is independent from public networks. e*Message provides specialised messaging services focusing on security, mobile organisation solutions and integrated solutions. This allows individuals and groups (e.g. doctors, authorities, fire services, winter maintenance services, service personnel) to be notified, warned and alerted reliably, quickly and accurately via digital devices. Established in December 1999, e*Message took over both the Deutsche Telekom and France Télécom’s paging services in 2000 and has been developing them continuously. The corporate group’s operating centres are located in Berlin and Paris. (www.emessage.de)
