Europe’s largest security radio network: e*Message presents professional solutions for warning, alerts and control at PMRExpo

09.11.2016

Berlin, 9th November 2016: “Securely accessible - at any time and anywhere.” The Berlin e*Message Wireless Information Services Deutschland GmbH is presenting its communication and control solutions at the PMRExpo in Cologne with this motto. The European leading trade fair for professional mobile radio and control cen-tres is taking place in Cologne from 22nd to 24th November. As the operator of Europe's largest security radio network, e*Message will be focusing on the importance of a second communication infra-structure - the Berlin mobile network operator’s solutions and services for warning, alerts and control can be viewed and tried out in hall 10.2 at stand B 08.

Paris, Brussels, Munich - not only these three particularly striking events in the past year have shown that security cannot be taken for granted. “The news and procedures surrounding these far-reaching events have shown that we cannot rely on only one communication technology,” says Dr Dietmar Gollnick, CEO of e*Message Wireless Information Services Deutschland GmbH. Misinformation via social networks, overstrained digital disaster warning systems and overstretched police digital radio systems have made it clear that there is no perfect primary solution.

e*Message is contributing to guaranteeing a reliable second infrastructure for communication security with its future-proof communication solutions. The Berlin mobile network operator maintains Europe’s largest security radio network: a satellite-based radio network with around 800 transmitting stations throughout Germany, independent of public mobile networks which are prone to break down. It allows alerts and warnings to reach all recipients simultaneously - regardless of whether the group comprises 10 or 10 million people. The security radio network allows alert and warning services to be installed and utilised which can provide reliable warnings and information throughout Germany: e*BOS provides an optimum radio service which guarantees that fire services and non-police emergency units are alerted immediately and simultaneously. e*Warn has become an established preventive information and warning solution: Collaborating with the federal and state system MoWaS (Modular Warning System), which has replaced SatWaS (Satellite-based Warning System), the solution ensures that both the population and specialised workers are reliably alerted independently of general network structures - either across the whole region or to the exact house number. e*Message received the new German quality seal “Safety made in Germany” (SMG) for the quality of e*BOS and e*Warn.

Reliable security is also important in other areas. The hybrid solution e*Nergy provides the efficient and tamper-proof remote control of decentralised energy consumption and generation applications to ensure power grid stability. “This is our pragmatic and already available contribution to realising the energy transition,” says Dr Dietmar Gollnick. The remote control solution e*Nergy, which was awarded with the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Prize, is currently being used for the efficient remote control of EEG facilities, heat pumps, night storage heaters and non-public street lights in the Berlin power grid. Asset groups can be controlled and individual elements can be regulated incrementally with e*Nergy. Requirements which energy providers and distribution system operators throughout Germany are dealing with on the path to smart power grids.

The alert solution e*Cityruf has become established throughout Germany for emergency services of all kinds. e*Cityruf provides reliable communication wherever strict reaction times must be observed or where there is a risk of disruption with consequential damage - in the city and in the country, as well as in buildings, cellars and underground car parks. Rescue and winter maintenance services rely on e*Cityruf, as do logistics companies for the management of their premises and vehicle fleets.
