“Safety made in Germany” (SMG): e*Message awarded with new quality seal for secure communication solutions

08.06.2015

Berlin/Hanover, 8th June 2015: The e*Message Wireless Information Services Deutschland GmbH today received the new Ger-man quality seal “Safety made in Germany” (SMG). The Berlin mobile network operator is among the first five holders of the new quality seal in the country. The seal is awarded by the German Fire Protection Association (vfdb) for excellent products and services in the German security industry. The seal was granted during the In-terschutz opening ceremony. The world’s leading trade fair for fire prevention, disaster relief, rescue, safety and security is taking place in Hanover from 8th to 13th June.

“It is our daily duty to guarantee security,” says Dietmar Gollnick, CEO of e*Message. “Which is why we are particularly pleased to hold this new quality seal for our core competence - secure and reliable communication solutions.” The Berlin mobile network operator maintains Europe’s largest security radio network: a satellite-based radio network with around 800 transmitting stations throughout Germany which is independent from public networks. It allows alerts and warnings to reach all recipients simultaneously - regardless of whether the group comprises 10, 10,000 or 10 million people.

e*Message is being presented with the SMG quality seal for its alert and warning solutions e*BOS and e*Warn which are employed in different fields:e*BOS provides an optimum radio service which guarantees that fire services and non-police emergency units are alerted immediately and simultaneously - and without the need for long set-up periods. e*Warn has established itself as a preventive information and warning solution: Collaborating with the federal and state system MoWaS (Modular Warning System), which has replaced SatWaS, the solution guarantees that both the population and specialised workers are reliably alerted independently of general network structures - either across the whole region or to the exact house number.

Security solutions like these are what “Safety made in Germany” will stand for as of today. The new German quality seal is awarded for excellent products and services in the German security industry. The German Fire Protection Association (vfdb) plans to use it to highlight quality features in the field of security. Products and services which satisfy the high German standards of users in non-police danger prevention and have been tried and tested in the field by rescue and emergency units are to become easily identified.

“We welcome the vfdb’s efforts in every regard,” says Dr Dietmar Gollnick. “The world has not exactly become safer in recent years. Nearly every day there is news which causes uncertainty - from Cyber attacks to natural disasters. As a result, reliable security standards in all areas are all the more meaningful.

e*Message is presenting its reliable warning and alert solutions in hall 12, stand B21 at the Interschutz this year.
