e*Message is collaborating with Fraunhofer ISST in two population warning projects, SAFE and KatWarn. State agencies and concerned citizens receive alert messages via a satellite-based radio network. e*Message presented first results and future developments during the KAT 10 forum recently held in Berlin.
The American Association of Paging Carriers (AAPC) and the European Mobile Messaging Association (EMMA) co-hosted the first ever Global Paging Convention in Montreal, Canada. Carriers, manufacturers, suppliers, and resellers from fifteen countries and five continents joined together for two days in June to showcase their emerging technologies and applications, and to learn innovative applications for wireless messaging in numerous educational sessions.
The migration to digital e*BOS alerting has gone off without a hitch for fire brigades in Börde, the second largest district in Saxony-Anhalt. All 254 sirens and the 1,700 pagers used by firefighters, paramedics and rescue workers are now controlled using the e*BOS virtual private alerting network. This could have a resounding effect on public warning systems all over Germany.
e*Message, the specialist in alerting solutions, presented a new kind of storm siren at Bremerhaven’s 4th Storm Congress. The new device uses a warning module equipped with the necessary wake-up function. The Fraunhofer Institute (ISST) and e*Message are currently field-testing the storm early-warning system.
